Eromancy
One of six
types of divinations
practiced by the Persians by air and water. They wrapped their heads in
a napkin, exposed to the air a vase full of water, over which in a low voice
they uttered the objects of their desires. If bubbles appeared on the surface
of the water, it was a happy prognostication. (see Eromanty) A.G.H.
