Egg tree
A charm once commonly used in the Ozark mountain region of the
United States, but less frequently since the 1930s. The egg tree is composed
of a dead bush with the limbs cropped and decorated with dozens, perhaps
hundreds, of blown eggs. The bush is set in the ground near a cabin supposedly
to ward off witches. A.G.H.
