Brig of Dread, The
This is
an old belief alluded to by Sir Walter Scott. That the soul, on leaving
the body, has to pass over the brig of Dread, as bridge as narrow
as a thread, crossing a great gulf. If the soul succeeds, he enters heaven;
if he falls off, he is lost. A.G.H.
